Decision evidence check
4 of 5 core facts stated
This checks whether the listing states the facts that commonly change an employment decision. It measures disclosure completeness, not whether the opportunity is good or bad.
Facts already stated
- Compensation
- Work arrangement
- Advertised location
- Employment type
What to verify next
- Application closing time: Is there a firm application deadline, a rolling review window or no stated closing date?
Advertised location is not proof of work authorization, sponsorship, or legal eligibility. Unknown information is not a negative score; verify those questions separately.
Decision levers
What could make or break the fit?
Reasons to look closer
- Pay compares strongly with similar current roles: The annualized midpoint is around the 77th percentile among 403 comparable USD salary observations.
Trade-offs to weigh
- Location rules could change the fit: Geographic eligibility is restricted to a country or region.
Questions worth asking before you invest more time
- Confirm whether a degree is actually required, preferred, or replaceable with equivalent experience.
- Confirm the actual minimum experience requirement rather than assuming preferred background is mandatory.
- Ask whether visa sponsorship is available before investing significant time in the application.
These questions come from details the listing leaves open. An unanswered point is not treated as a disadvantage.

Role market context
How much current choice is visible around this kind of work?
This compares the vacancy with current High Paid Job inventory in the broad Executive leadership roles family. It describes visible choice and disclosure, not future demand or career quality.

Constraint opportunity lab
What changes the size of the current opportunity pool?
Each line applies one stricter evidence-based constraint to the same bounded current role-family sample. It helps you see the trade-off in visible choice without deciding which trade-off is right for you.
Counts only affirmative or possible sponsorship evidence, or relocation explicitly offered. Unknown is not treated as no.
A much stricter subset: only listings with explicit worldwide-remote evidence remain.
Shows the subset with enough stated evidence for a more informed first comparison.
Only same-currency opportunities with usable annualized pay enter this comparison. Other currencies are not converted or treated as lower.
Counts roles explicitly classified as worldwide remote, region-restricted remote or remote with restrictions still unclear.
Requires amount, explicit ISO currency and a supported pay period. Missing pay evidence remains unknown.
Uses only roles where a country is known. Roles without country evidence are excluded from this denominator.
Uses only roles with a stated employment type.
These are counterfactual filters over a bounded sample of current HPJ inventory in the same broad occupation family. They show how visible choice changes when one evidence-based constraint is applied; they do not tell you which constraint you should choose or predict hiring outcomes. The calculation uses the 200 most recent current roles from 1732 visible roles in this broad family.
Salary transparency context
Is pay disclosure typical for this kind of role?
This listing states usable structured compensation. About 40% of the bounded current role sample does the same.
Compensation counts only when amount, ISO currency and supported pay period are all known.
Pay disclosure is limited in the current role sample.
This employer’s current pay-disclosure rate is broadly similar to the current same-role sample.
This compares salary-disclosure behavior in current visible listings. It does not compare raw salary amounts across currencies, infer undisclosed pay as zero, or rate employer quality.

These skills belong to one reference occupation selected for HPJ’s broad career family, not a verified classification of this vacancy. Text overlap only means a phrase appears in the available listing text; it does not establish an employer requirement, your proficiency, or a qualification gap. Decision analysis
What the listing really tells you
A closer look at Creative Director - Brand Narrative at Mercury points most strongly to the advertised pay can be placed in context, the location rules are clear enough to judge, and the application route gives a few useful clues. Those signals shape the practical upside and the questions still worth asking.
The advertised pay can be placed in context
The annualized midpoint sits near the 77th percentile within 403 comparable USD salary observations. Treat that as current advertised-pay context rather than a forecast of take-home or total compensation.
The location rules are clear enough to judge
The work-location pattern is “Remote with some uncertainty or restrictions”, with Remote Freedom at 62/100. One practical limit to notice is geographic eligibility is restricted to a country or region..
The application route gives a few useful clues
Provider-mediated application path · 1 visible process step. The external application may contain additional steps that are not visible from the listing itself.
The listing can be traced to a current source
1 recent enabled source can currently renew this vacancy across 1 source classes. That improves traceability, although it does not verify the employer itself.
How this analysis is assembled
This read combines the structured details currently available for pay, flexibility, qualifications, mobility, application effort and source continuity. Missing facts are left open for you to verify.
Analysis evidence coverage
How much analysis can the current evidence support?
Uses the explainable High Pay Score within the job’s current occupation/seniority/currency comparison sample.
Measures observable location flexibility and explicit restrictions; it does not determine whether remote work is personally desirable.
The configured source supplied structured salary fields, a usable currency and a focused comparison value.
The listing was posted about 3 days ago.
At least one enabled source recently observed the vacancy. The source chain is traceable, but this is not independent employer verification.
There is no universal opportunity score because pay, flexibility and access matter differently to different people. Compare Jobs lets you weight the evidence around your own priorities.
Decision checklist
What is supported, uncertain or worth checking?
This checklist separates supported strengths, visible cautions and missing evidence. It is not an overall recommendation or guarantee that the job is suitable for you.
Supported strengths
- Advertised pay is above much of the current comparable disclosed-salary sample.
Visible cautions
- Geographic eligibility is restricted to a country or region.
- This is remote work with a geographic restriction, not a worldwide-remote vacancy.
Still unknown
- Visa sponsorship is not established by the available listing data.
Pay vs. barriers
Strong pay with stated barriers to weigh
Pay compares strongly, but qualification or location constraints are also visible. Higher pay does not erase those practical requirements.
Comparable disclosed-pay evidence places this job at about 77 / 100 within its current occupation/seniority sample.
1 explicit Remote Freedom restriction signal is present and is shown separately from qualification requirements.
- Education requirement is not established.
- Required prior-experience level is not established.
This section weighs pay context against clearly stated barriers without collapsing unlike requirements into one universal score. Degree, experience, licensing, clearance and location limits remain separate, and missing qualification details stay unknown.
Beyond the headline
Not enough evidence for a hidden-value finding
Potential hidden value appears only when several distinct non-pay advantages are actually supported. Missing requirements or benefits are never counted as positives.
The annualized salary midpoint is at or above about 77% of the current comparable disclosed-salary sample.
Still check: The current application path is provider-mediated rather than directly classified as an employer-authorized or official route.
Hidden Value is an experimental evidence summary, not an investment-style score or guarantee of employability. It only uses explicit current listing evidence and does not infer that an unmentioned qualification is unnecessary.

Questions worth asking this employer
- What compensation range applies to this role, and which parts of total compensation are fixed versus variable?
- If work authorization matters to you, what sponsorship policy applies to this specific role and location?
- If a move is required, is relocation assistance available for this position?
- What is the expected application and interview timeline if the listing does not state a closing date?
These questions are prompted by missing or thin evidence in the employer’s current visible vacancies. Missing evidence is not treated as a negative judgement.
This employer snapshot uses the employer’s current visible listings. Remote and sponsorship rates use only vacancies with explicit evidence, while missing information stays unknown. Salary medians are shown separately by currency and need at least five disclosed salaries. Work-location intelligence
Remote Freedom
Remote with some uncertainty or restrictions
Why this score?
- The role is remote but the source identifies a country or regional restriction.
Location restrictions detected
- Geographic eligibility is restricted to a country or region.
Remote Freedom measures observable location flexibility only. Unknown work-location information remains unscored. Timezone wording is penalized only when it appears restrictive; general collaboration across time zones is not treated as a restriction. A score does not guarantee legal work eligibility, payroll availability or visa sponsorship.

What’s the catch?
These are visible conditions worth checking before treating the headline compensation as the whole story:
- This is remote work with a geographic restriction, not a worldwide-remote vacancy.
Current alternatives
Better-paying alternatives

Original listing details
The section below comes from the listing source. The decision sections above use the job’s structured pay, location, qualification, mobility and application details to give you additional context.
In 1977, Charles and Ray Eames began a film with a picnic beside Chicago’s lakefront. Over the next nine minutes, Powers of Ten traveled out toward distant galaxies and back into the microscopic world inside a human hand. An enormous subject became a journey you could follow, built around a simple change in perspective. Images, language, movement, and sound brought the idea to life together.
That’s the kind of creative thinking we’re looking for at Mercury: finding a compelling idea inside something complex, then bringing together the people and crafts that make it unforgettable.
We’re looking for a Creative Director to build and lead Brand Narrative, a new team within Brand Creative. You’ll turn company strategy, product truths, customer insight, and cultural observations into original concepts for our most important launches, campaigns, and brand moments. You’ll originate ideas yourself and stay closely involved as they become finished work.
Your background might be in art direction, design, or copywriting. What matters is your ability to develop exceptional concepts, recognize the best idea wherever it comes from, and bring the whole creative studio together to make it real. Whatever your starting discipline, you’ll bring deep experience in film-led storytelling.
You’ll lead Brand Narrative in close creative partnership with your peers leading Brand Design and Writing. Together, you’ll shape concepts, language, and visual expression from the beginning, bringing distinct perspectives and shared ownership to the work. You’ll contribute strong ideas of your own, invite others to challenge and improve them, and build on theirs. This is a role for someone who enjoys making work together, not developing ideas in isolation and handing them off.
You’ll also shape what Brand Narrative becomes. That means building its culture, developing its people, and establishing ways of working that make the entire studio more creatively ambitious. The opportunity is to make great work while building a team that can keep making it.
What you’ll do
In your first year, your focus will be roughly 70% leading creative development for our highest-priority launches and campaigns, and 30% building the Brand Narrative function.
- Originate and lead big creative ideas. Partner with Product Marketing and Brand Marketing on the brief, then turn the agreed audience, opportunity, and product proof into original creative concepts. Develop ideas that can take distinctive forms across film, social, out-of-home, digital, experiences, and partnerships.
- Bring ambitious concepts to life with your creative peers and the full studio. Work side by side with the Brand Design and Writing leads and their teams from the earliest explorations through delivery. Develop ideas together, exchange thoughtful critique, and make creative choices that draw on each discipline’s expertise. Stay hands-on, contribute through your own craft, and partner closely with Motion and Production throughout. For film, remain closely involved through scripts, visual development, production, and the final edit.
- Build audience and distribution thinking into the idea. Shape concepts around how people will discover, watch, and share the work. Work with marketing partners to consider channels and viewing contexts from the beginning, so the work belongs where people encounter it rather than simply being resized to fit.
- Push beyond the first good answer, and learn quickly. Lead thoughtful concept development and critique. Use rough scripts, prototypes, and AI tools to test ideas quickly, learn, and move the strongest work forward. Know when to keep exploring and when to commit, then protect what makes an idea interesting through feedback and production.
- Find opportunities before a brief arrives. Bring curiosity about Mercury’s products, customers, and the wider world. Develop proactive ideas and cultural opportunities that give the brand something meaningful to say or do.
- Help decide where creative ambition matters most. Partner early with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Product Design, Comms, and Insights. Help identify which moments deserve our largest creative investment, present recommendations to senior leadership, and use results from marketing and insights partners to inform what comes next.
- Build and lead Brand Narrative. Define the team’s purpose, priorities, creative standards, and ways of working. Help hire and develop the team, shaping its structure and capabilities. Set clear expectations, and coach people to grow their judgment and conceptual strength.
- Create a culture where the best idea wins. Make room for experimentation, honest feedback, and contributions across disciplines. Lead with generosity and conviction, share ownership of the work, and help people challenge one another without making creativity a competition for credit.
- Build practices that strengthen the work. Establish a clear path from insight and an agreed brief to concept and execution, with useful critique and close collaboration throughout. Develop relationships with external creatives and agencies who can add a distinctive perspective or capability when needed.
What you’ll bring
- A strong creative foundation in art direction, design, or copywriting. Your portfolio shows original concepts developed into ambitious, well-crafted work across multiple formats. You can explain what you contributed, how the idea evolved, and how collaboration made it better.
- Deep film experience. You’ve developed film-led ideas from concept through production, with strong instincts for story, scripts, performance, pacing, and sound. You understand how these choices work together to make an audience feel something, not just make a film look good.
- A track record of deep creative collaboration with design and writing peers. You’ve led ambitious multidisciplinary work from concept through production by building trusted partnerships. You bring a clear point of view, listen closely, work through creative disagreements constructively, and recognize when someone else’s approach makes the work stronger. You can show how your collaborators shaped the outcome, not just what you personally originated.
- Strong taste, cultural awareness, and product curiosity. You can get close to a complex business or product, find the human truth within it, and turn that understanding into something clear, surprising, and memorable.
- Experience developing creative people and shaping how a team works. You give specific, useful feedback, set a high bar with care, and create an environment where people can take creative risks. You’re excited to build a new function, including the everyday practices that give it a culture.
- Clear communication and sound judgment. You can rally people around an ambitious concept, explain why it deserves investment, and navigate competing perspectives without losing the idea. You take ownership in ambiguous situations and balance creative ambition with the need to move work forward.
What success looks like
A year in, you’ll have led major launches and film-led campaigns from original concept through finished work, with Brand Design and Writing as creative partners from the beginning. The studio’s disciplines will have shaped the work together, with audience and distribution informing the creative approach.
Brand Narrative will have a clear identity, shared creative standards, and working practices that help people test and develop stronger ideas together. Alongside planned launches, you’ll have established a pipeline of proactive opportunities that gives Mercury more ways to express its product ambition with originality and cultural relevance.
Please include a portfolio featuring film-led work and broader campaign concepts. We’d love to understand your role in developing the ideas, the choices you made through production, and how you brought the work to life with others.
