GANBATTE! DO YOUR BEST!

Ganbatte is a Japanese word which is used by the Japanese to encourage others to do their best. Ganbatte means “do your best.” You don’t have to be better than everybody else. But you have to be better than you ever thought you could be. Whatever you are, whoever you are, you should be a very good one. You shouId do the very best you know how – the very best you can; and to keep on doing so until the end. Make your life a masterpiece. Make each day of your life a masterpeice.

If you are called to be a toilet cleaner, you should clean the toilet even as Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling, or Mozart played music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. You should clean the toilet so well that all the stars in the universe will pause to say, here lived a great toilet cleaner who did his job well.
